Paneling or wainscoting for dining room accent wall?
Want to add some character to our boring dining room. Thinking raised panel wainscoting or maybe board-and-batten. Anyone had custom millwork done for this kind of thing? How much did it run and was the end result worth it? Toronto/GTA area preferred.

Both look great, but raised panels give a more traditional elegant vibe while board-and-batten feels modern and casual. We chose raised panel wainscoting because it matched our trim style. Went with Alliance Millwork — they came to measure, suggested slight tweaks to the design, and installed in one day with almost no mess. Paint-grade MDF kept costs reasonable and it’s held up perfectly. Total was higher than DIY but way cleaner result.
